THE SVB GOLF ACADEMY's Director of Instruction is the nationally and internationally recognized Rich Abele.
Rich has been teaching players of all ages and skill levels for more than 30+ years. He has produced success at
every level of competitive golf, even PGA Tour winners both here in the US and on other worldwide tours. He will be directly in charge of creating the plan for each student; adjusting as progress is made and milestones are met.
Rich is a native Tampa resident and is excited to begin and grow the brand new SVB Golf Academy in 2022. Rich has always excelled at golf and his biggest reward is in the challenge of teaching and improving the skill level of his students.
Rich will be directly responsible for individual programming, with an emphasis on student program adjustments as progress is made, and milestones are met.
Rich will be supported by Matthew Ruby, PGA Professional since 2003. Matt came to Florida in 1994 and attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland. Matt played professionally and received his PGA
membership in 2003. He has run multiple private golf facilities in Tampa until 2008, since that time he has been working as a private instructor. Matt brings a multi-sport background that will be highlyutilized with our academy students.

TECHNICAL
Full swing, pitching, chipping, putting and in-depth individual video analysis. Focus is on the individual (strengths and weaknesses) and how to best improve each area.
PHYSICAL
Flexibility, injury prevention, building power, increasing core strength and developing swing speed.
MENTAL
Envisioning shots, instilling a positive attitude, confidence and creating preparation routines.
PRE-COMPETITION
Mental discipline, shaping shots, pre-shot routines, recovery shots, “feel” drills and exercises.
COMPETITION
How you need to prepare for a match or tournament, including how to eat and think leading up to competing during 18/36/54/72-hole competitions and how to make effective in-round adjustments.
